I attended a meeting on 30th August - the next is 12^th December. Everything is on schedule for sending out the survey, a draft was discussed at the meeting. The survey will be field tested in the middle of September and the survey itself will go out in October to all school principals in the province. A letter will also go out to all school council chairs informing them of the survey.

The questions on the survey cover food service facilities, foods available to students, sponsors

private operators within the school who offer food /drinks to students. It asks questions on breakfast/snack and lunch programmes, food and nutrition related policies that each school might have and it ends with the school profile. The draft covers six pages.

The meeting in December will be after the survey has been completed and the marketing company has finished their work. We should know then ?hopefully what the schools in the province are serving, offering and what our next step will be.
